Bengt–Bjarte is Bernt-Bjarne’s brother and yet one of the regulars at Moxie’s with a heavier cross to carry in life than most of us. Keeping track of a grown man who has got it into his head that he is employed by the Norwegian government to hunt extra-terrestrial creature had probably been just a little bit to much for most of us. That Bernt-Bjarne is terrified of these creatures do not make the job of looking after him any easier. The family has repeatedly tried to get Bernt Bjarne placed at some suitable place for wayward souls, but as Bengt–Bjarte himself puts it, in a country where the most dangerous people are put right out on the street, no institution has the room, interest or capacity to take care of his idiot brother.
Bengt-Bjarte try for dear life to keep his brother away from the internet as it is there he gets the craziest of his ideas, but to no avail, nothing is fool proof as we all know, because idiots are far too clever. Bengt–Bjarte is an accountant and work from home, to let his brother be home alone a full workday would have had fatal consequences. He tries to keep his stupid brother at home but Bernt–Bjarne manage to sneak out ever so often anyway and then he usually ends up at Moxie’s where he becomes an easy prey for the house ghost who Bernt-Bjarne think is an alien.
As in so many other families Bengt-Bjarte has been left alone with the responsibility for his deranged brother. The rest of the family finds the most incredible excuses for not being able to carry their share of the burden. But as anyone who has been in Bengt-Bjarte situation knows, the rest of the family is ever so satisfied with the status quo and leave Bengt-Bjarte to struggle with all the responsibility. Rather him than me than is the what they all think of course.
