Petronella Augenie supply goods from the coffee importing firm “The Brown Bean” and is thus a relatively frequent guest at Moxie’s, where the coffee sells a lot better than Bogdan’s bottled goods. Petronella Augenie is like so many in this world not satisfied with life and carries a dream about participating in Norwegian Idol. That she is far too old for this and she has a look and a singing voice that would not have resulted in anything but the judges uninhibited laughter and subsequent winches for better luck with other projects put no damper on Petronella Augenies fantasies. Like so many others, she is convinced of her own profound talent.
As Petronella Augenie sings shaking and false as she comes through the door at Moxie’s with her boxes and tins of coffee of various kinds it gives rise to the same badly hidden laughter among the staff and regulars as it probably does everywhere else she visits during the working day. But Petronella Augenie are blind and deaf to it all, she reckons it is because her wonderful singing voice and dazzling looks make people embarrassed of their own lack of talent and this embarrassment creates as it often does, an embarrassed laugh.
Petronella Augenie are often found in one of the city’s many karaoke bars where she ruins one oldies after the other to the intense disgust of the other people present. But again Petronella Augenie takes this as evidence of the rest of the visitors’ envy of her brilliant talent. That she gets blacklisted in one karaoke bar after the other Petronella Augenie takes as a sign of the same envy. That she is no longer welcome in her own family because she insists on singing at any occasion is for her a sign of the same.
