3 ozs of baking chocolate, melted
2/3 cup of condensed milk
2 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
2 cups of confectioner’s sugar, sifted
1/2 cup of walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup of dates, chopped
Melt chocolate in double boiler, Add condensed milk, and cook 5 minutes, stirring until mixture thickens, Remove from fire, add butter and vanilla essence. Sift in sugar, and blend thoroughly, Fold in chopped nuts and dates, Scrape mixture into buttered square fudge pan, smoothing top with spatula. Chill 4 hours in refrigerator. Cut into squares. Makes 30 pieces.
