Theodora Olava appeared at Moxie’s a late spring evening in 2008. It turned out that she after an unfortunate episode (her own words) at the Grand Café in the thirties had been sentenced to haunt the finer Oslo cafés in all eternity. It so happened that she had in a fit of intense annoyance stuffed a dishcloth down the throats of a particularly difficult guest with a toilet brush. The guest did not recover and at the trial Theodora Olava choked on a doughnut and went the same way. Unfortunately for her, St Peter had heard of the toilet brush episode and sentenced her to a miserable existence as a ghost on the finer Oslo cafés till judgment day.
So in the spring of 2008 she had even as a ghost managed to piss of St Peter and he relocated her to Moxie’s, a right pudding of a café in her eyes. According to her Moxie’s was not up to the standard of Halvorsen’s Tea Room, Grand Café and the Theater Café where she had been located since the ill-fated day in court. The strange thing is that every time Theodora Olava moved to a new location the patrons disappear and new ones, strange and mostly disagreeable ones replaced them. These are nowhere near as refined and bourgeois as those who frequented the place before she appeared. New and suspicious suppliers also appear with the consequences this may have.
Laura and her young waitress Caroline Synnøve Stang Sildreviik soon got used to the house-ghost turning up now and then and simple peasant girls as they like to call themselves they don’t care at all if the ghost should bother their new disagreeable urban regulars.
