Between 1973 and 1983 I spent every summer holidays on the British Isles (A few summers since then I’ve gone elsewhere, but not often ;-)). It is in no way an exaggeration to say that there was no other book I opened more often during those ten years than “Hamlyn’s Road Atlas To The British Isles”. It was used when planning the trips, and since I usually rode shotgun it laid open in my lap throughout the trips. Even to day I can still just reach out my hand as I sit here with my PC at my desk and pick the book out of the bookshelf above me –Ted
