Long before little Ted had detected why there was a difference between boys and girls and what that difference could lead to he liked to look at pictures in magazines. Norwegian magazines back in the fifties were very full of mono-chrome pictures of film stars, Italian ones in particular and among them was of course Sophia Loren. Those pictures evoke feelings in little Ted he didn’t understand but still liked very much.
Every time I see one of those old black & white photos of Sophia I’m momentarily brought back to the fifties and can’t help a little smile playing over my lips. Memories are strange and wondrous things.
Here’s about 50 of those old black & whites – Ted
She is indeed a beauty! And the B&W images are stunning!
And what great memories for you. Sigh. 🙂
Now you got me thinking…the first time, as a little girl, that I felt a “stirring” was seeing Robert Wagner for the first time (on TV in some old movie). I looked at his face and his “ways” and I was enthralled. He was old enough to be my father (even older actually) but, I developed a crush. I still think he’s a handsome man. 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂
Isn’t it strange and delightful how some childhood memories follow us all through our lives 🙂
I used to watch the Sunday matinees on television and Barbara Stanwyck was always my favourite then Debbie Reynolds
Great actors both of them 🙂
I never was a real fan of Sophia Loren but when I was a “camera operator,” in the days before joining the health service and having, according to my Nan, “a proper job” I worked on a guide book for Madam Tussaud’s, one of the scans was of Sophia Loren, after which I was hooked, it took a long time to produce the negatives 😉
I’ve been hooked since I was about 6 I think 😀
